What is a Step and Repeat?

A step and repeat is a design style using a sequence of repeating elements such as logos to create a patterned background for use in photography. You achieve a Step and Repeat background by “Stepping” and “Repeating” the elements across the space to create a uniform sequence or pattern.

Sometimes referred to as “Press Walls” or “Media Walls” we have a number of options available to bring your event to life! These backdrops are indispensable marketing materials for anyone having an event with guests.

Step and Repeat Options:

At Signs and Printing, we offer several types of step and repeat display systems. Whether you are having a private party, exhibiting at a trade show, or hosting a conference, our options cover the range from professional to casual. You can order custom sizes, either complete with a frame or without a frame.

Pole Pocket / Pipe and Drape

The most universal and economical step and repeat that we produce is the pole pocket step and repeat. You’ve seen this type of backdrop at trade shows, office parties, and launch events. Setup is easy with all the connecting parts clearly labeled. We recommend a team of two people for the setup, as an 8×8 step and repeat is rather large for one person to handle alone.

Tension Fabric Wall

The tension fabric step and repeat is our favorite because of its super clean finish. This backdrop has a pillow case print, which zips up tightly around the aluminum frame. Setup is fast, usually taking 10 minutes or less.

The aluminum frame quickly snaps together. Once complete, the only part of the hardware that you can see is the feet. We recommend two people set up the stand together.

Velcro Pop-Up Wall

This is the backdrop that has the pop up frame which opens up like a large accordion. Expand the frame fully, and the fabric printed backdrop will adhere to it with Velcro.. Customers frequently use our pop up walls for step and repeat backdrops because these walls have the most depth. Having left and right 12” side walls the fabric print is large enough to wrap around the face and the two edges.

SEG Wall

SEG (Silicone Edge Graphics) walls are a premium display solution designed to deliver seamless, high-impact branding for trade shows, corporate events, retail environments, and special installations. Custom Sized Backdrops:

Some of our clients only require a large banner to serve as their step and repeat. You can print our step and repeat banners at any size for custom builds. Stretched around a truss frame or suspended with hanging bars, choose from vinyl or fabric, and finish it with grommets or pole pockets. What Material Options Do We Have For Step and Repeats?

By default, we print all our step and repeat banners on high-quality polyester fabric. Fabric is nicer than vinyl in our opinion and it tends to last longer. Our fabric backdrops are washable, professionally finished with sewn edges and reusable.

We also print step and repeat banners on vinyl as well. When circumstances call for a vinyl banner step and repeat, we easily have that option as well.

Standard Turnaround: One week or less. Choose our regular turnaround time, and we will deliver your step and repeats for free.

48 Hour Rush Turnaround: Order your step and repeat by the end of each business day, and you will have it in hand within 48 hours. (Sunday delivery not available)

Next Day Service: Next Day step and repeat printing is available Monday – Friday until 12PM (Noon). This service is only available for the pole pocket step and repeat.

Same Day Service: Same day service is only available when we have the bandwidth to knock out the order. Please let us know as early as possible if you require your backdrop same-day.
